Where the HELL is Matt? Early 2003, Matt Harding quit his job to go wandering around Southeast Asia until the money ran out. A few months into his trip, when his friend suggested, "Hey, why don't you stand over there and do your stupid dance. I'll record it." Matt did it, and he thought it looked pretty funny, so he kept on doing it everywhere he went. That turned out to be a very good idea. He put the video of his dancing adventures on his blog and then in 2005 someone posted the video of Matt dancing on YouTube. Millions watched and Matt briefly got micro-famous as "That guy who dances on the internet.” In the midst of all that, Matt got hired by a company to make another dancing video for them.
He mostly just danced in front of iconic landmarks, but while dancing in a country called Rwanda, Matt went to a small village to dance. A bunch of kids joined him immediately and without hesitation. That ended up being the best thing that happened to Matt. The kids taught him that a group of people dancing are a whole lot more interesting than one guy who dances poorly by himself. Matt he would create another video that showed thousands of people laughing, smiling, and goofing around together. These videos exploded all over the Internet.
Matt thinks travel, people & different cultures are important. They help us learn what we're capable of, that the path laid in front of us isn't the only one we can choose, and that we don't need to be so afraid of each other all the time. You have to watch the video that Matt created, it is one of the most inspiring videos I have ever seen.
Where the hell is Matt? Well on November 5th & 6th he will be presenting at the Secret Service Summit in Cleveland, Ohio. The DiJulius Group is so excited to have Matt share his inspiring journey and lessons he learned creating that worldwide dancing video.
That turned out to be a very good idea.
